It does support FW 400 through the 800 socket via an adapter. I can
understand their logic... FW400 used to be the standard for data transfer
from camcorders etc but these days USB 2.0 is faster and most new camcorders
no longer support FW. Most new hard drives that aren't USB are FW800. Apple
are (and should not) sticking with old tech and choosing to move forward but
they still offer users backwards compatibility via a simple adapter.
