[NMUG] Actually using BBC iPlayer.

Dear All at NMUG
I've seen a bit about BBC iPlayer commented on and I am wondering then  
are there Mac users actually able to sucessfully use iPlayer.
If there are, what am I doing wrong on my Mac book pro? I am able to  
listen to missed Radio programmes but not watch TV shows very well.
Looking on the iPlayer small print it says I need to have a particular  
flash player which I down loaded but the Mac fails to keep it.
To watch a TV show I need to go through the install procedure before  
putting up iPlayer and selecting a programme. The next snag is that it  
cuts off the end of a programme.
i.e. a 60 minute programme runs for 55 minutes and refuses to play  
anymore!?
So far I've missed Top Gear and Family at War which is a bit annoying.
Any tips will be gratefully received. I do wonder if wi-fi has a  
bearing on this?
